Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. offers an excellent array of benefits to eligible employees as well as an exceptional work environment. [The following applies to all employees who work a minimum of 30 hours per week at the Santa Clara, California office.]

Holidays: Employees receive 8 - 10 paid holidays per year, depending upon the calendar for that year. This is in addition to paid vacation time

Vacation: Vacation is accrued on an ascending scale beginning with 1.54 hours earned each week for a total of two weeks of paid vacation time for the first year of employment. Maximum accrual is 3.08 hours earned per week starting with the eleventh year of employment.

Personal Day: Employees may take a personal day for emergency use at any time during a calendar year. This time off is deducted from the ten day sick leave bank of hours.

Sick Leave: Employees may use their own sick leave for themselves or to care for ailing members of their immediate family. The ten day leave bank (per year) is shared between Personal Time and Sick Time. This bank is replenished each year on the employee’s anniversary date.

Bereavement Leave: Employees may take paid leave during times of bereavement equal to: not to exceed five days for immediate family residing out of state and not to exceed 3 days for immediate family that reside in California. Immediate family is defined as: spouse, significant other, domestic partner, child, brother, sister, parent, father-in-law or mother-in-law, step-mother, step-brother, step-sister, step-child, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent or grandchildren.

Jury Duty: Necessary time off for employees to complete any/all obligations as a juror.

Health and Welfare

Health Insurance: Provided to part-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and all full-time employees. We offer three different medical plans; Blue Cross HMO, Blue Cross POS or Kaiser. We also provide dental, acupuncture, chiropractic, long and short-term disability, flex spending and vision care. Premiums are 100% paid for employees; eligible dependent premiums are paid 85%.

Disability Pay: In conjunction with State disability benefits, full-time and part-time employees receive not less than 60% of their regular income while out on disability, to a maximum age of 65.

Life Insurance: Is offered to all qualified employees at a rate of one times their annual salary. Supplemental life insurance is available for up to 5 times amount of annual salary. Premiums for supplement life insurance are the responsibility of the employee.

Workers Compensation Insurance: Provides medical care and lost wages to employees who have been injured at work.

Domestic Partner Benefits: Health insurance programs are offered to employees with domestic partners (same sex or opposite sex) who meet specific eligibility criteria. Benefits are equal to employees with legal spouses, except for federal & state taxing requirements.

Employee Assistance Program: Confidential, professional counseling is available to all employees and their dependents for up to three sessions per insured individual - per year. This plan provides legal and financial counseling as well as counseling on personal life issues.


Part-Time Benefits: Employees working a regular schedule of not less than 30 hours per week receive regular insurance and time-off benefits (pro-ration for time off compensation).

Flu Shots: Company offers flu shots for its employees at no charge each Fall.

Training - Health: Company sponsors safety, CPR and First Aid classes periodically for those volunteers active in these areas.

Work Environment

Performance Evaluation Process: Performance Evaluations are conducted for each employee on their anniversary date. The purpose of the performance evaluation process is to review previous work and achievement of pre-defined goals, design mutual goals for the coming year and have an open discussion between the employee and his/her manager. This evaluation process does not guarantee a “merit” increase in salary.

Tuition Reimbursement: CSI offers reimbursement of costs associated with training provided the training has been pre-approved by manager, CFO and CEO. Employee must receive a grade of B or above to be eligible for the tuition reimbursement and must be employed for a minimum of one year after completion of specified training.

Financial

Profit Sharing Plan: The Company currently offers a profit sharing plan to its employees, based on annual earnings, and has the potential for up to 10% of an individual’s base salary.

Retirement Plan: The Company offers a 401(k) retirement savings plan and the Company currently matches 25% of contributions up to yearly allowable maximum contribution.

Flex Spending Plan: All employees may take advantage of the IRS' Section 125 Flex Spending Plan for pre-tax deferral of dependent care, medical and employee-portion premium expenses.

Direct Deposit: Bi-weekly paychecks can be deposited directly into up to two bank or credit accounts of the employee's choosing.

Recreational and Other Events

Fitness Program: Catalyst Semiconductor offers an on-site gym which is available to all employees and is equipped with treadmill, elliptical trainer, stationary bicycle, weight station and free weights.

Community Activities: Through voluntary participation, during the winter holidays, employees have proudly supported Second Harvest Food Bank.
